After the great BaltiCCycle 2004
expedition from Nordkapp to Athens, Travellers Association CROTOS
invites you to participate in the next big adventure!
This year we will cycle through the borderland of different
cultures and religions. We will see hanseatic Gdańsk, Masuria lakes,
mountainous Suwalki National Park, Tatar and Russian villages of
Podlasie, wild forest of Bialowieża National Park, the renaissance town
of Zamość and the pearl of architecture - Lvov, Gorgan mountains,
Chocim, Kamieniec Podolski - all of these before we reach Odessa by the
Black sea cost. Our expedition is dedicated to the victory of the
"Orange revolution" in Ukraine.
At the same time our Lithuanian friends will take the east route
starting from Riga and Klajpeda, pass through Vilnus, Kaunus, Belarus
territory. The groups will meet in Lvov and cycle on together.
Leaving Lvov our road starts to go up getting closer to Carpathian
Mountains. We will arrive via Uzh pass to the city of Uzhgorod, the
religious and cultural centre of Ukraine Carpathians. After we will
enjoy a wild nature in mountains and climb the highest peak Goverla
(2061 m). Then the route will bring us to a very beautiful city of
Chernovtsy, we will visit the famous Khotyn Castle-Fortress and
magnificent town of Kamenec Podolskij. Crossing Dniestr River we will
enter Moldova and find ourselves in the country of whitewashed villages
and green fields of endless vineyards. Cycling Moldova from North to
South we will arrive to Ukraine again and will direct to the Danube
delta, the place called Ukrainian Venice. From here we will go along
the Black Sea shore and arrive to Odessa, a Pearl of the Black Sea, on
August 18 th .
We will visit the relicts of history, admire marvelous nature. We
will encounter common people for whom the places that fascinate us are
just something ordinary and usual - sometimes underestimated, sometimes
- on the contrary - appreciated and well remembered. Just as it was on
the ferry boat that crosses Bug river, when encountered by us villagers
were telling us stories about the old times just as it happened during
their lives yesterday. As it is not land that tourists visit often -
every guest is treated individually and exceptionally.
Just because of these places and these people you have to be there!
